NCN NEMS Workshop Held at Purdue
0n April 8, 2005, the Network for Computational Nanotechnology (NCN) held a workshop on Nanoelectromechanical Systems (NEMS) entitled Challenges and Opportunities in the Development of Nanoelectromechanical Systems. Ten speakers from around the country discussed current research in this area.
On April 8, 2005, more than 50 researchers attended a workshop at Purdue University entitled Challenges and Opportunities in the Development of Nanoelectromechanical Systems. Professor Jayathi Murthy of Purdue organized the meeting to help researchers in the NEMS area learn more about the latest NEMS research.
Ten speakers from around the country came and talked about their current research. The audience included students and professors from Universities around the country, and even a few researchers from industry.
There were four different sessions covering topics such as carbon nanotubes, nanofluidics and integrated systems, and thermal transport. At lunch, there was even a small poster session with students displaying some of their research in the NEMS area. At the end of the day, the speakers held a closed discussion of how they can further NEMS research.
All of the abstracts and most of the presentations from this workshop are available here on the nanoHUB.
